LOCAL COLLECTORS' CORNER
This
changing display of the collections belonging to local people gives a privileged
insight into people’s private passions.
This year is the 50th anniversary of The Archers on BBC Radio 4 and from
July - September our display features Archers’ memorabilia from the collection
of Peter Tewkesbury.
From
October to December local collector, Paul Nicholson, will display his collection
of football memorabilia which has a focus on Bedford Town Football Club. The
display will include rare programmes and souvenirs of significant local matches,
1930s boots, a 1920s football and a 1940s wooden rattle.
Football
Tales:
On Thursday October 25th at
2.00 pm Paul will give a talk, using his collection and dressed in early football
clothes, about the good old days.
There
will be a raffle to win The Eyrie Roar, a book of memories of Bedford
Town F C from 1919 to 1966 by Paul Nicholson. This book is also on sale in the
Museum shop.
