60 Tongues of Bedford : October 2001- February 2002

Ghost Tour This is a 5 month project between the young people of Bedford Foyer, Bedford Museum and the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery. It is funded by the Department for Education and Skills, via the Campaign for Learning in Museums and Galleries and the South Eastern Museums Service.

The aim is to get young people more involved in museums and galleries, helping them to be seen as interesting, relevant places where new skills can be learnt and developed. The "60 Tongues" in the project title indicates the approximate number of languages spoken in Bedford and the project is reflecting this in a number of ways.

Some of the things that people have been involved in so far include:

An exhibition at Bedford Museum will run from 9th February 2002 for three weeks, although some of the work in progress is currently on display at the Museum.

The project should also have a web-site up and running by the end of February.
