Long-Necked Plesiosaurs |
These marine reptiles looked similar to the way the Loch Ness monster is portrayed. They all had long necks supporting small heads. The jaws were equipped with long slim pointed teeth. The animal used four big paddle-shaped limbs to move it through the water. Plesiosaurs fed on squid and other small prey, darting after them with their long necks. Several different species of plesiosaur swam in the Jurassic seas of Bedfordshire.
