The collections reflect the human and natural history of Bedford and the surrounding area.

Current Exhibition

Ouse

Ouse Town

15 March – 13 July

The River Great Ouse is often described as the jewel in Bedford’s crown, but just how much do we know about this treasure and what goes on along its banks. In this exhibition we look at just some of the stories from the Vale of Bedford, revealing life on the banks of the River Great Ouse.

Picturesque views, political uprisings, crime and punishment, engineering feats and sporting victories will be explored – it’s not all messing about in boats!
