John Bunyan Museum Education at the John Bunyan Museum Introduction The Pilgrim's Progress, by John Bunyan, is one of the best selling books of all time. He was a religious leader whose influence has been felt throughout the whole world, and who has given hope to thousands. He was a man of such strong principles that he was prepared to be a prisoner of conscience for 12 long years. This Church, which bears his name, has a large collection of Bunyan artefacts and memorabilia. These are housed in a purpose-built Museum. The Museum aims to present the life, times and works of John Bunyan in an accessible and relevant manner. This website has been produced to help teachers to use the Museum effectively and to support teaching of the National Curriculum. This site provides information for teachers rather than pupils. These pages give background information on John Bunyan's life and work and introduce what is available at the Museum. These pages should help you to plan and prepare for a visit. The Museum has produced a range of 18 activity sheets, some of which are designed to be used in the classroom and some of which are for use on site. These are available in the Teachers Resource Pack.
