Lunchtime Discovery Sessions

A lot of work is hidden from public view. Only a fraction of the objects kept in the collections are displayed. Hours are spent on detective work behind closed doors to piece together as much as possible on an object to establish its historical value and importance.  Bedford Museum is now sharing with our visitors this process of discovery related to some of the hidden treasures in our stores, some of the stored items are shown below. Every second Wednesday of the month the museum staff run lunchtime tours behind the scenes to look at specific parts of the collections in more detail.

Information and images of collections are currently being entered onto computer and selections of the collections are available for viewing in the exhibition gallery.
